Raised by Chefs for Habitat in 2023
Chefs for Habitat Celebrities are community leaders who participate in a fun and funny competition.
Each Celebrity uses their community influence to raise funds for Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County. The top three Celebrities who raise the most funds for HFHWC will compete (with our guests’ help) for the title of “best secret talent” and receive special recognition during the event, as will the Celebrity who raises the most funds overall!

Chris Eccleston, a Salisbury native, is the spirited founder of Delmarva Veteran Builders (DVB), a firm bringing a veteran’s touch to local construction projects. Under Chris’s helm, DVB soared into the national spotlight, gracing the Inc 5000 list thrice. A Navy vet, Chris’s core is all about supporting fellow veterans, a dedication honored at the Pentagon with the Secretary of Defense Freedom Award.
Besides DVB, Chris introduced Trashforce in 2020, turning a waste hauling service into a customer-centric venture. In 2023, he co-authored “Grit Leads To Greatness,” a children’s book resonating with young readers nationwide.
With solid academic roots from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and Salisbury University, Chris also shines as a community beacon, serving on various local boards, always with an eye toward nurturing local growth.
Away from business pursuits, Chris’s world is filled with family joys, community engagements, and the occasional kitchen dance-off, making him not just a local entrepreneur, but a local hero.
Every year, chefs from our local restaurants and catering companies step up to cook incredible signature dishes for our Chefs for Habitat guests. These Gala Chefs dedicate their time, resources, and considerable talent to build this signature event, and we give them outpourings of thanks for their skilled hands and giant hearts.
