The “Chefs Celebrities” are competitively-spirited, eager, and enthusiastic movers and shakers of the community who share Habitat for Humanity’s mission to ensure everyone has a decent place to call home. These Celebrities participated in a challenge where they were asked to pitch their fundraising ask in the theme of their favorite movie.
All Celebrities were asked to use their videos to raise money in support of the event and Habitat’s mission to ensure attainable housing for our community. During the 15th annual Chefs for Habitat event, all Celebrities raised a total of $33,000 for attainable homeownership!
Martin Hutchison of community of Joy Church and The United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore rasied the winning total of $11,500.
Heather Wilson of GiveSendGo won the challge portion of the event, with her fundraising video set to “The Greatest Showman”.
On March 7, 2026, twenty-two of the area’s best chefs came together to create meals for the fifteenth anniversary annual Chefs for Habitat Gourmet Gala, Golden Age of Hollywood! Honorary Chair Melissa Geeslin welcomed 500 guests to the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center for an evening of food, music, fun, and fundraising.
During the event, our Habitat Chefs Celebrities took the stage to conclude an incredible fundraising effort, and to showcase their refurbished items in videos created by PAC-14.
The winners of this year’s Celebrity Fundraising Challenge were: Martin Hutchison with his Oscar-worthy $11,500 in funds raised by a single person; and Heather Wilson, whose creative fundraising video set to “The Greatest Showman” propelled her to Celebrity Fundraiser Challenge stardom.
Our Celebrities dedicate time and effort to fundraising for HFHWC in the months leading up to Chefs. A grand total of $33,000 was raised by our celebrities for the 2026 Chefs for Habitat Gala.
Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed the promenade of the honorary chairs Melissa Geeslin, a VIP happy hour event; danced to music by the DJ Slim Grady, bid on over 100 silent auction items, and showed their Hollywood best by posing for photos at our step and repeat banner.
“It was a huge night for Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County,” said Director of Development Christina Williams. “The support we received from our community through sponsors, donors, board and committee members, and especially the Celebrities and Gala Chefs, shone through in the success of the evening.”
Over $140,000 was raised for Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County, all of which will be used to purchase building supplies for construction of attainable homes.
