Hi, I’m Kim, a former non-profit director -turned-cookier, obsessed with creating more joy in life and in the kitchen.

I have enjoyed cooking and baking since I was a small child.   I had dreams of going to a culinary institute, but then life happened.   As my kids were growing up I was always the mom who volunteered to bring in the crazy snacks for every occasion.  My favorite memories are my annual Christmas cookie baking and cake decorating with one of my dear friends.  We always joked about opening a bakery.  

When asked what career I would choose, if I weren’t doing what I was doing at the time, my response was always something that involves creativity or making things! My love for creating and baking has become an amazing business!  I work out of my home on our small family farm in Berlin as a Cottage Kitchen Baker. 

Over the last three years, I’ve taught myself the dos and don’ts of baking and decorating cookies through a lot of trial and error. Now, I want to share the basics and techniques that look impressive, but can be easily mastered by anyone and my love for baking through my cookie decorating classes.  

My goal is to inspire you to jump in and choose to have more fun and joy in life—through cookies! 

I am a graduate from Wor-Wic Community College with Degrees in Accounting and Business Management, Salisbury University with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Education, and University of Maryland with a Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. 

I’m also the mother and step-mom of six amazing kids, nana to five  of the most beautiful grand littles, a pug mom to our four spoiled pugs, and am married to my soul mate, best friend, and most amazing assistant, Phil.
